Happy Mother's Day x

March 19, 20233 min read

A very Special Mother's Day to all the women who hold the title and/or the role of being a Mummy. The hardest yet most rewarding role in the entire world. There are no breaks, sick days or time off when you're a mum but we continuously find strength and resilience like the Super Women we are.

Today is a day where we should be shown appreciation and be celebrated and if your kids are not big enough yet, or you have no one to make you breakfast in bed or take you out for a meal, I just want to let you know that I appreciate and celebrate you. Your kids love and adore you and couldn't imagine a world without you in it.

It's not easy, but I smile knowing that my kids can see what I do for them daily and they're appreciative. My son is very vocal and constantly let's me know how much he appreciates me and tells me thank you for everything I do for him. I don't do it for praise, I do it because I love them and want the best for them. But it's so nice to know that he recognises and appreciates my efforts.

So remember on this day, even though it may not seem it sometimes, but your children are your greatest cheerleaders. They look up to you, they see the sacrifices you make, they see that you're tired, yet you still take them to their activities or to the park. They see that you are always available to them, you have breakfast and dinner made for them, clothes on their backs and a roof over their head. You have kisses and cuddles at the ready to cover them and show them love. They appreciate it and they will appreciate it even more once they're grown and have their own kids.

I am so blessed to know some awesome mothers, too many to name, but I look at them with admiration. No matter what circumstance they are in, they show out when it comes to their kids. My generation of mothers have really got themselves together. Have successful careers, hold down the home, love and do everything for the kids and still find time, even if just a little, for themselves, and look fabulous whilst doing all the above. They are my motivation and I make it a point to let them know how great they are doing, because we should give credit where credit is due, and keep our Queens raised. So keep going, I appreciate and celebrate you. especially on this day.

To my mum. I appreciate you. I appreciate the sacrifices you made when we were children. I appreciate the fact that every evening we got home from school, dinner was cooked and ready for us. That we always had clean clothes and decent shoes to wear to school and church. I see for myself now how hard it is raising children, especially by yourself, which makes you even more awesome.

Now I am grown and have my own children, I understand. So I try to do things for you to "pay you back" for all the things you have done for me. Even if it's little things like lunches and small gifts here and there, just for you to know that I haven't forgotten. Also it's nice for my children to see that I have a good relationship with you, so they can emulate it and have a good relationship with me. Plus they love you and it's so nice to see the relationship you have with them, and them with you.

I hope all the mummas get the time to sit down, even if it's only for a minute, and reflect on your journey, reflect on all the good moments motherhood has brought you and smile. I know it's hard mumma, but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Enjoy your day, you more than deserve it.

Until next time, Keep minding your Business, your Babies and your Bae x
