Get Out Your Own Way!

You ever heard of imposter syndrome? Imposter syndrome, also called perceived fraudulence, involves feelings of self-doubt and personal incompetence that persist despite your education, experience, and accomplishments. To counter these feelings, you might end up working harder and holding yourself to ever higher standards.

I feel like this. I'm always the first to encourage my friends and family to reach their potential. I help inspire and help them understand their strengths, skills and capabilities. I love that I can potentially help others progress. On the flip side, I have this fear that holds me back when it comes to myself. I know my abilities and capabilities but it's like I freeze. I know I'm at a point in my life where I'm tired all the time due to the sleepless nights with the baby (which I must say, is getting better) but maybe deep down inside, I always have a niggling doubt that maybe I can't do it.

Then Imposter Syndrome comes to mind. I am qualified to do well in my endeavours. I have the skills and ability to make anything work, yet I doubt myself. But why? Could be a number of things, you know everything goes back to childhood sigh.

I refuse to let these thoughts get the best of me. I know what I am capable of, I know that I was made for great things and to live life abundantly. So this is my attempt of putting it out there, taking accountability for myself, in front of you, and letting you know that I will (and you also if you too are struggling) get out of my own way.

Do yourself a favour. If you ever feel in doubt of yourself. Remember that you are worthy, you are great, even though sometimes you may not feel it, and you can do any and everything you set your mind to.

So go and start the business. Don't worry about failure, that's a part of life and it's lessons. Take the journey in your own stride. Learn, enjoy, network. It's all a process. You'll find your rhythm and then wonder why you never started sooner.

As for me, I'm going to get out of my own way and live in my truth and greatness, because I know it's there, no matter how much I try to hide it.
